The month of LOVE & ROMANCE has officially arrived...

I just adore Valentines Day!! Whether being single or having had a sweet valentine, I have always enjoyed seeing people shop for their valentine in the stores filled with red & pink, love-hearts and balloons, beautiful cards and wrapping papers and just all around, over the top displays of love and affection :)


Valentines day is a great excuse to be over the top lovey-dovey, a great excuse to indulge in each other like you are teenagers again, love notes, flowers, cupcakes, 100 kisses, whatever it is you know will melt your lovers heart.   

Since Valentines day is just right around the corner, over the next few days I'll be sharing some gift ideas, my favorite romantic places to dine, and other valentine goodies.


To me, one of the most romantic gift ideas for valentines day
is anything home made and from the heart. It takes a lot of thought and effort to create something special for the one you love. Below are some cute ideas to inspire you.

Mobile love

This delicate handmade mobile would look lovely hanging just about anywhere. I'd like to hang it above the bed and think of it as a "love catcher".

                   craft stuffing to stuff the hearts...

                   needle and thread...

                   various length twigs...

Extra special touch: collect the twigs from a park or hiking place that is special to the two of you.

So cool, I love this! The hearts inside are adorable. This love bulb can embellish a mantle or be used as a paper weight.

Warm my heart

If your valentine loves a nice warm cup of tea, this is a very sweet idea.

Purchase a cute little tea pot and maybe matching cups. Then simply personalize their favorite tea by writing sweet notes onto paper heart cut outs and taping or stapling them to the end of the tea bag string. Put the tea bags in a pretty little tin and ta-dah, simple and sweet.

Play your cards right
Quirky and sweet idea. Write something you love about your valentine on each of the cards. Or add 52 of your own sweet thoughts or memorable moments together. Decorate the front of the deck with a photo, design or favorite quote.
