The one you Love, a beautiful Ambiance and delicious Food.
...my idea of a wonderfully romantic date night.
Love, Ambiance and Food, all three work so magically together to stimulate all 5 of our senses at once. No wonder so many of us enjoy a delightful dinner for two. There are many places you can find great food for you and your love to enjoy, however it's a little more difficult to find equally stimulating surroundings to accompany the deliciousness.
For me, the ambiance is just as important as divine food, especially if you are in the mood for romance.
What better time for me to share some of my favorite romantic places to dine in Los Angeles than the week before Valentines day. For those of you still unsure where to spend your date night this February 14th, I would definitely recommend any of the following places.
Lobster, Santa Monica
Why I love it: Located at the beginning of the Santa Monica Pier
this modern classic, is dimly lit, lively but intimate and its floor to ceiling windows
look out onto the colorful lights of the Piers ferris wheel. Perfect location to take an after dinner walk.
My favs: *Sauteed Hawaiian Blue King Prawns
*The Fresh Raspberry Martinis
Cafe Piccolo, Long Beach
Why I love it: Driving down Broadway avenue in Long Beach,
it's very easy to overlook Cafe Piccolo.
However once inside, you will never forget this little gem.
The indoor/outdoor courtyard is romantic and cozy with
sparkling white lights and a sweet little fire pit to keep you warm.
My Favs: *Shrimp and crab stuffed mushrooms
*Lemon linguine Primavera
The Little Door, Los Angeles
Why I love it: It doesn't get more romantic than the Little Door!
Everywhere you turn you are surrounded by beauty.
Candle light, colored walls, lush plants... very very appealing to the senses.
As well as the decor, the food is just as appealing... All produce is bought fresh and organic from local farmers,
now that is something to which my body screams Yes!
As well as the delicious healthy food, The Little Door boasts
one of the largest selections of wine in Los Angeles
with over 80 varieties of wine by the glass.
My Favs: *Roasted Chicken breast with smoked garlic & greek oregano
*Dungeness crab cakes with Moroccan greens & Aioli sauce
Yamashiro, Hollywood
Why I love it: Yamashiro means "Mountain Palace" and it is exactly that!
Sitting high up on the hill side, it's view of the city below is breathtaking.
The mansion restaurant is also lavished with a japanese garden including
beautiful trees, waterfalls, ponds of goldfish and a zoo of exotic birds.
Sushi, sake and the twinkling lights of Los Angeles is definitely romantic in my book.
My Favs: *Spicy tuna & soy roasted shishito roll
*Loch Duart Salmon
*The infused pineapple Sake-tini
